(remember not to use the border stitches)<br /><br />Make a knit 2, purl 2 rib for 8 rows.<br /><br />Six Stitch Cable Pattern<br />Row 1: (RS) *p1, k6, p1* Repeat to end of row.<br />Row 2: *k1, p6, k1* Repeat to end of row.<br />Repeat rows 1 and 2 one time.<br />Row 5: (RS) *p1, slip 3 sts to cable needle and hold in front, k3, knit 3 sts from cable needle, p1* repeat to end.<br />Row 6: *k1, p6, k1* Repeat to end of row.<br /><br />REPEAT CABLE PATTERN 3 TIMES TOTAL.<br /><br />Begin to shape crown.<br /><br />Row 1: (RS) *p1, k6, p1* Repeat to end of row.<br />Row 2: *k1, p6, k1* Repeat to end of row.<br />Repeat rows 1 and 2 one time.<br />Row 5 – 1st Decrease Row: (RS) *p1, sl2 to cable needle, k2tog, k2, knit 2 sts from cable needle, p1* repeat to end<br />Row 6: *k1, p5, k1* Repeat to end of row.<br />Row 7 – 2nd Decrease Row: (RS) *p1, k2tog, k1, k2tog, p1*, repeat to end<br />Row 8: (WS) *k1, p3, k1*, repeat to end<br />Row 9 3rd Decrease Row: (RS) *p2tog, sl1, k2tog, psso, p1*<br />Row 10 – 4th Decrease Row: (WS) p1, *sl1, k2tog, psso, p2tog*, end sl1, k2tog, psso, p1.<br />Row 11 – 5th Decrease Row: (RS) p2tog 6 times, k1<br />Row 12 – 6th Decrease Row: (WS) p2tog whats left.<br /><br /><br />Cut yarn about 20 inches long and thread on needle. Run needle through live stitches and pull tight. Rows 2 & 4 should be *k1, p6, k1* repteat to end. Row5 should be (RS) *p1, slip 3 sts to cable needle anbd hold in front (C6F), k3, knit 3 sts from cable, p1, repeat to end. Wherever it's a k2 or p2 should be k1 & p1. For those who may have done what I did aka day dreaming with reading a pattern, you start the rib on the RS K2, P2 so row 2 is reverse P2, K2 to the end, then back to K2, P2 for row 3. flip flop this to complete the 8 rows. If you don't it won't rib & you'll just have a pretty bumpy look. <br /><br />Row 5 is goofy: "Row 5: (RS) *p1, slip 3 sts to cable needle and hold in front, k3, knit 3 sts from cable needle, p1* repeat to end." There isn't enough sts so I just fudged a little and for the last 6 sts I P1, slipped 3 to the needle, K1, K3 from the needle P1.
