Christina over at string*Theory is featuring a photograph of my strawberry pincushions that I posted on Flickr. I'm very flattered and excited.
I have been planning to post instructions for the strawberry ornaments but just haven't gotten around to it. They were inspired by a Martha project from 2000 (which turns out to be the third photo featured on string*Theory, interesting circle of inspiration, Martha really is amazing). Martha embroiders the tops of some the pincushions but I found little success with that method. Below are some pictures of the process. The strawberries are really easy and fun to make. I made a few completely by hand but for me it was faster to use the sewing machine for the first step.
These are awesome! I want a tree decked in these!
