This skirt is a plan B kind of project. I started making a dress using Vogue pattern 9668, view B, at least ten years ago. Basically, it was too small in the bust and I just couldn't get right. I really should have made a muslin but I don't think I was that familiar with the concept then.

I finally gave up on making the dress and just turned it into a skirt. I also made a matching tie belt. It will be great when slightly warmer weather rolls around and finally takes a project out of the unfinished bin.

In other news:
The new
knitty is up with some beautiful patterns. I've been thinking about doing some winter knitting but it's hard for me to commit to a pattern. I especially love the
Ice Queen wrap and the
Three Tams. The Interweave Holiday issue has a cute tam pattern but it calls for size 0 or 1 needles and I just imagine that taking
forever.
I'm familiar with the "unfinished bin", so I can only congratulate you ;o) I think this is a great dress/skirt revival and the belt brings a nice detail to the whole.
