How to DIY an Eyelet Tank Dress

The only thing sweeter than pink has to be pink eyelet. The circle motif eyelet and simple tank style dress is perfect for a sunny summer weekend. Pair it with a sunhat and flats for day or heels and a cardi for a casual evening out.

How to DIY an Eyelet Tank Dress

Step 1 Today's inspiration is the Eyelet Sunflower Dress from Madewell. I love the simple design and shaped hem. So sweet.

Step 2 This design is a basic tank style with a scoop neck in front and back very similar to Simplicity 1609. To match our inspiration, all you need to do is eliminate the center front seam and add a scoop to the front and back. You might need to shorten the length as well.

Step 3 For the fabric, I found this adorably sweet salmon colored eyelet fabric. Depending on how big the holes are in the eyelet, you might want to add a lining. You know, to avoid any peek-a-boos from your underthings.

  1. This would be an easy sew, and super cute! But I'm not sure about the french darts - I would transfer them somewhere else or "dart them out" to give the dress less shape.
