I whipped up this simple grey skirt in just a few hours last weekend. This was the kind of a leftovers/old recipe project that went really quickly. I used fabric leftover from other projects and a pattern that I've used a few times before. It's such a great basic. I'm really excited to have it as part of my wardrobe.
For the pattern I used the skirt pattern from the book Built By Wendy: Sew U. I used the pattern to make this striped skirt which i wear all the time. So I knew that the skirt would be a great fit and easy to wear. Even better, this pattern is really simple and sews together in about an hour. (Woohoo for speedy projects!)
The fabric is a bargain bin stretch knit that I used for these pants and this dress. It's a little thick which is great for bottom weights and very easy to work with. I still have a little bit left of this fabric if you can believe it.
For this outfit I'm wearing a lot of DIY. :) I can't wait to get out there and wear this classic grey skirt.

Lovely skirt! (The cape is pretty great, too.) Your posts always make me feel like I could follow a pattern, though I've never tried - so inspiring!
