I got these cute wooden handle bags at a local thriftstore for $1.50 and $2. I got the striped one (on the left), mostly for the handles and was planning on replacing the fabric at some point. But when I showed my future sister-in-law, Lisa, she insisted that I it was too cute to cut apart.
So, for now it will stay as it is. The second bag came with a very dirty, ugly lining. It was a blue stripe that in my mind really didn't match the exterior.
So I ripped out the lining and replaced it with a gray and orange floral print. The bag itself is made from two squares with curved bottom corners and three pleats on each side. It's very roomy inside and I found that it makes a great knitting bag.
I usually like to carry my purse on my shoulder so I don't see it becoming my favorite everyday bag.
But it's still very fun!
