A trip and a lot of retail therapy

I went to Powell's on Saturday and was thrilled to find a copy of The Bishop Method of Clothing Construction (shown below left).
I already had Fashion Sewing by the Bishop Method (shown above on the right) and it referred heavily to the original Bishop Method book so I've been on the lookout for it ever since. I skimmed it last night and it's a basic construction book with emphasis on "grain perfection" and many other "perfection techniques." It is unique from other sewing texts.

Another purchase from Powell's is a Burda sewing magazine. I was thrilled to find that patterns for all of the fashions pictured are included. There is even a knitting pattern included. The patterns have to be traced before using and that does look time consuming. (FYI, for free patterns check out burdastyle.com.)
