Blogiversary!!!

Happy Blogiversary to me! I think the idea of a blogiversary is kind of funny. The word isn't even in the dictionary although I bet it will be soon. After all, ginormous made it in.

It's been a very busy week but I've managed to throw together one of my favorite patterns for your enjoyment. Today's free pattern is a sewing pattern for a Reversible Shoulder Bag. It makes a great market bag. Shown above is a scaled down version of the dimensions given in the pattern. The photo below is of the large version.UPDATE: Please go to my new website to download pdf and instructions. The first page of the pdf is instructions. The second page is a diagram for the pattern. I haven't had time to make a version that can be printed and tiled together at full size. So, there may be updates in the future.
Please let me know if you have any questions. I would love to help and I'd appreciate feedback to make the pattern better.

  1. I stumbled upon your lovely blog today and Happy Blogversary!! I love the pattern I hope to make one in the near future. One question, How would I go about printing this to scale?

  2. Jessica, thanks for stopping by! Right now the instructions give dimensions so that you can draw the pattern yourself. When I get a little more time, I'll make one that can be printed on letter-size paper and then taped together to make a full size printed pattern.

  5. Hi Wendy! Thanks for stopping by and commenting. The fabric I used for the bags pictured in this post was purchased at a small store in the fashion district of Los Angeles. I don't know what stores you have available to you and I've never bought fabric online. I have been admiring the prints at reprodepot.com.

    Happy sewing!

  6. I love your blog, and this pattern. I picked up the greatest fabric combination's for it yesterday and can't wait to get started. All of the photos in the flickr album look fantastic!

One thing I am wondering though, would you mine just giving the dimensions in inches for the scaled down version you made? I really love that style purse, if it ends up being as easy as it seems I'll make one in every color :)

  7. Wow. I really like your instructions to this bag! I just finished making the pattern - and regarding that I have never done anything like it before it was REALLY EASY! Thanks so much for the tutorial! I am really curious what my bag will look like once it is done!

  8. I love the bag!! I would just like to know how big it is and how long the straps are because I am looking for a rather large bag. I guess I could always make the pattern bigger but I would just like to know the starting point! Thanks!

P.S. I love this bag sooo much!
