Vintage Pattern Inspiration - McCalls 8371

McCalls 8371 circa 1951
I love this pattern. The bias cut stripes, bold collar and large patch pockets are perfection. And the little bolero jacket? Charming. The sleeves, collar and bodice are all one piece of fabric so I imagine this would be a fairly quick dress to make. I inherited this pattern from my Grandma Louise. You can see the note she wrote on the right front of the pattern – Lavender Chambray. Quite a handy thing to do, to help one remember the intended fabric for a pattern.

  2. Although it would be lovely, I'm not actually planning on making this exact pattern. My grandma was much smaller than I am so it would take a bit of work to adjust the pattern to fit me. I will have another bias cut stripe dress to share tomorrow though. :)
