Vintage Sewing Patterns - Coats Part 1
Today, I'm sharing a couple of vintage coat patterns. Above is Vogue 1566 circa 1956. The pattern is sized for teens and features a kimono sleeve coat in two lengths. I just love the illustration on this pattern. The hat on view B is adorable! And I wish I had the bag that View A is carrying.
The pattern description reads: "Straight coat in two lengths. Narrow tab buttoned either side of front opening below shaped collar. Long kimono sleeves may be worn pushed up. Pockets in side seams."
Like our first pattern Vogue 8945 is a kimono sleeve coat from 1956. However, this pattern is a little more mature and could even be styled for evening wear. The pattern description for Vogue 8945 reads: "Very slightly flared coat with shaped collar has pockets in side seams. Three quarter length or long kimono sleeves."
What do you think? Would you like to have a coat like one of these? Which is your favorite?
