DIY Outfit – Gold Crinkle Party Dress

I love the holiday party season. The dressing up. The cocktails. The mulled wine. The dancing. The cookies. And there is no better reason than a party to make yourself a new dress. How to DIY a Party Dress

Step 1: I love the simple, flirty design of this dress combined with the textured gold fabric. It has just enough flash to be fun and party perfect without being over the top.

Step 2: This dress is a very straight shape with a flounced hem. Although not an exact match, the design is similar in quality to Butterick B5211. If you want to make an exact match to the inspiration dress, just cut off the sleeves and make a flounce for the hem, using the same technique as the sleeves. The flounce is made with just a big rectangle, folded in half and gathered with the fold at the bottom hem.

Step 3: For the fabric, I found this great toffee crinkled taffeta from Mood. I just love the texture and the color of this fabric.
