DIY Outfit – Drapey Top and Leggings

I love this casual, cool outfit of a drapey top and patterned leggings. It's easy to wear and super easy to sew yourself. Even better, I've found free patterns so it won't even cost you a lot of money. And that's the best kind of DIY, right?


How to DIY a Drapey Top and Leggings

Step 1: Comfortable and cool, our inspiration outfit centers around these Sparkle & Fade Leggings from Urban Outfitters. The top is loose fitting (similar to this) and perfectly balances the skinny bottoms. Worn with heels and the right accessories, this outfit is elevated to nighttime cool.

Step 2: To make the leggings, draft your own perfect-fit pattern using one of these tutorials from Randomly Happy, Etsy or One Little Minute. For the top, download the free pattern Fave Top from Tessuti Fabrics.

Step 3: For the fabric, I've found two great jersey fabrics from Mood – grey jersey and a printed jersey.
