So this was a great fit for me. Today I'm excited to share my first collection with you – the Holiday Gift Guide. It has a lot of great, affordable (most under $75) pieces for the home. I would love to have any of these under my tree. They are all unique, chic and useful – just what I like in a gift. Go check out all of my selections and happy shopping!

DIY Printable – Happy Raindrop Christmas Ornaments

Growing up in Oregon, rain was a much more common Christmas event than snow. For me, nothing really says the holidays quite like cloudy skies and trickling rain drops. Now that I live in Southern California, with all the sunshine and palm trees, it never quite feels like Christmas. Rather it feels more like vacation. Suffice it to say I sometimes (just sometimes because honestly I can not complain about sunshine) feel a little nostalgic for the drippy weather. So when I was thinking about how I want to decorate my little silver tinsel tree happy little raindrops were the perfect fit.

DIY Your Holiday with Kollabora

Howdy crafters! Are you on Kollabora yet? It's a social crafting site where you can share your DIY projects and follow other crafters. I love how the site has evolved from its early days. It's great to see how many people have become involved. I love seeing what other people make and it's a really easy to use and beautifully designed site. I was an early member but have been lax about updating my profile. However, I've spent some time in the last week updating my profile with all the sewing I've done this past year. If you need to catch up fast on my Spring, Summer and Fall sewing, head on over to my Kollabora profile and check it out. While you're at it, set up your own account and start sharing. :)

For the holiday season, Kollabora is promoting DIY gift making this Monday, December 2. Check out their collection of Holiday Gift Ideas (my fingerless mitts pattern is in there) and use the hashtag #makermonday to join the social fun. Are you going to be making any holiday gifts this year?

Moodboard – Thanksgiving

I am so excited that Thanksgiving is finally here. November has been full of birthday parties (including my own :). Now I'm ready to settle into the holiday season and enjoy some quality time with family and lots of yummy things. I'm also very excited to have a four day weekend coming up. Besides the turkey day festivities, I'm planning to do a lot of sewing and some Christmas decorating. What are your plans for Thanksgiving? Are you going to be cooking or just eating?

Mini DIY Tutorial – Painted Christmas Utensils

The other day I picked up these simple wooden utensils from IKEA. Using a few basic craft tools, I prettied them up with for the holidays. These were really fun to make and I love how they turned. The series of red and white stripes and dots gives the utensils a kind of christmas in Scandinavia look. You can easily improvise the stripes and dots until you get the look you want. It's very sweet, a little rustic and awfully festive.

DIY Tutorial – Stamped Mini May Day Tote

May Day is an often overlooked holiday but in my book it's well worth celebrating. To help you do just that, here is a little flowered tote perfectly sized for hanging a small bouquet on a neighbor's doorknob. I made this tote in two variations, one decorated with stamped fabric paint and the other with embroidery. Of course you can use these sweet little bags any time of year for things like party favors and gifts. I hope you enjoy!

Font Friday - Berimbau for Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day Berimbau Font Friday Alphabet

Today's Font Friday is Berimbau, available from My Fonts. Berimbau is a tall and thin, handwritten font. So, even if you have less than stellar handwriting, this font can transform your valentine from a scribbled mess to a tender, hand-crafted love note. And most of all, you want a valentine to look sincere don't you?

DIY Wrapping Paper

I had so much fun wrapping gifts this year with my own DIY painted wrapping paper. Even better, it cost practically nothing to make. Naturally, I wanted to post this before Christmas but just didn't get around to it. You know how it goes. And anyway, you can make use of this craft anytime of year. It only takes a little bit of time to do and it's totally worth it.

Merry Day-After Christmas

I hope that you all had a wonderful holiday. I had a great holiday with my family hanging out, eating, playing, watching movies and relaxing. Here are a few Instagram pics from the weekend.

Our first ever Christmas goose.
It was a very smoky affair. Have you ever made a goose? Was it dripping and smoking the whole time?

Abby Dog, sleeping one ear perked
We were all pretty tuckered by the end of the day on Christmas, doggies included.
A little Christmas knitting
I made a very small baby blanket and a baby hat for my niece over the weekend.

It was nice to have a long weekend of relaxation and family time. Now it's back to work for a few days before the New Year. How was your Christmas? How did you spend the weekend?
